Thanks Ellie for writing something so tasty!

Love your no-BS approach laced with the perfect pinch (bucket loads) of satire. Wishing you all the best. Do keep writing. The world needs more powerful voices like yours.

Forgive the cheesiness in advance. I really need to pee.

“The written word is the most powerful tool we have to protect ourselves. Both from the tyrants of the day and from our own traditions. Whether it is the storyteller or the legend Scheherazade, staving off behaving by spinning a thousand and one tales, feminist poets of the last century who challenged the cultures perception of women through verse, or lawyers like me who defend the powerless in courts, Iranian women have for centuries relied on words to transform reality.”

— Iranian Nobel Peace Prize winner Shirin Ebadi

ANOTHER ONE. (U Smart. U Loyal. I Appreciate U.)

“Anything that is in the world when you’re born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works. Anything that’s invented between when you’re fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it. Anything invented after you’re thirty-five is against the natural order of things.”

— Douglas “So Funny I Got Kicked Out of Church Reading Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” Adams

ANOTHER ONE. (DON”T LET UR DREMZ BE DREAMZ)

“So the Sage stays with his daily task
and accomplishes the greatest thing
Beware of those who promise a quick and easy way
for much ease brings many difficulties

Follow your path to the end
Accept difficulty as an opportunity
This is the sure way to end up
with no difficulties at all”

— Lao Tzu (What the heck was this guy smoking?)

Ok I’m done. Kabaragoya.

I beg you, to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don’t search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.

— “Moody-ious Maximus” Rilke

Worst case scenario, pack yo bags and move to Toronto :)

Peace,
-JJ
